How NOT to fit a tow bar

Our expert engineer was recently called to a job to fit some lights, and upon arriving he found that another company had fitted the tow bar cross member UPSIDE DOWN and had wired it to the vehicle lights causing them to blow!

Below: The cross member (circled) has been fitted upside down which causes the ball and pin to be too low. When this vehicle tows items they could go underneath the vehicle instead of pulling behind, which is extremely dangerous.

Above: Here you can see that the original fitting company has wired the tow bar into the lights. This is also very dangerous and caused the lights on the right-hand side to blow permanently. The customer had to pay for the vehicle lights to be fixed.

In this instance, our expert engineer rectified the problem for the customer free of charge and advised that in future they use a company with more experience. Our engineer also explained how to maintain and use the tow bar – part of the aftercare service we provide for all of our customers.
