What is a Shadow Immobiliser?

The Shadow Immobiliser is the UK’s first connected immobilisation system, designed to protect your vehicle using advanced and dependable technology. It automatically activates the immobiliser when the ignition is turned off, ensuring your vehicle is secured without any additional input.

The system operates entirely through the presence of a unique Driver Detection Card or tag. meaning there is no requirement for manual remobilisation processes such as button sequencing. This provides a seamless, convenient and highly secure user experience.

What happens if my battery runs flat on the Detection Cards?

The Shadow Immobiliser is supplied with two Shadow Driver Detection Cards and a USB charging cable. If the battery in either card runs low, simply connect it to a USB power source using the included cable. Allow approximately 30 minutes for a full recharge or charge until the green LED indicator light appears on the card.

Can the immobiliser be transferred to a new vehicle?

Unfortunately, the Shadow Immobiliser cannot be transferred to a different vehicle once installed.

Can this be installed to vehicle types such as classic cars or hybrid/electric vehicles?

Yes, the Shadow Immobiliser uses advanced, intelligent technology that allows it to be installed across all types of vehicles, including classic, hybrid and electrical models.

What do i do when my vehicle goes in for servicing?

Putting the device into “Service Mode” is simple and can be done directly through the mobile app. Just enable Service Mode to allow the vehicle to be driven without needing the Shadow Driver Detection Card. Once the vehicle is back in your care, remember to switch Service Mode off to restore full protection.

How long will the installation take?

The installation time for a Shadow Immobiliser system may vary depending on the vehicle’s type, age, make and model. On average, please allow approximately 2.5 hours for the installation to be completed.

Can the Shadow Immobiliser be installed alongside a tracking device or other vehicle security devices?

Yes, the Shadow Immobiliser can be used as a standalone security solution or alongside other vehicle security systems, such as tracking devices and alarm systems, to provide enhanced protection.

How close does the card/tag need to be to the vehicle in order to start?

The required proximity of the Shadow Driver Detection Card or tag to the vehicle in order to start the engine may vary depending on the vehicle type and the installation position of the device. In general, the card must be inside the vehicle or in very close proximity to allow the engine to start.

For added security, we recommend storing your Driver Detection Cards in a Faraday pouch when not in use, including any spare cards.

Will my vehicle arm the immobilisation straight away?

Please allow up to 90 seconds for the immobiliser to fully activate after the ignition has been switched off.

What happens if i have issues starting my vehicle?

We recommend first ensuring your vehicle battery is fully charged, along with checking other common factors that may prevent the vehicle from starting. This includes confirming that your Shadow Driver Detection Cards are charged and powered on.

Is there an ongoing cost?

No. The Shadow Immobiliser is a standalone immobilisation system, therefore no subscription or ongoing costs are required.

Is there any warranty included?

Yes, the Shadow Immobiliser incudes a 12 month manufacturer’s warranty as standard.

Will the product void my vehicle manufacturer warranty?

We are not aware of any cases where a vehicle warranty has been voided due to the installation of a Shadow immobiliser. However, we always recommend checking with your vehicle manufacturer for confirmation.
