Built around industry-leading video technology, the DR970X-2CH PLUS II sets a new standard in dash camera performance and image quality.

The DR970X-2CH features an ultra-wide 155º viewing angle, advanced HEVC video compression, dual-band 2.4-5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and enhanced Night Vision powered by its high-performance 8.4-megapixel CMOS image sensor.

It is also compatible with BlackVue Cloud, providing a range of connected features that keep you remotely linked to your vehicle. These include Remote Live View, Video Backup, Real-Time Tracking and Emergency Notifications.

The DR970X-2CH PLUS II can be upgraded to full 4G always-on Cloud connectivity with the addition of the CM100LTE external connectivity module and included SMARTY SIM card. This enables continuous access to your dash camera through the BlackVue app, allowing you to receive instant notifications and remotely view video footage whenever an incident occurs.

The DR970X-2CH PLUS II is BlackVue’s flagship dual-camera dash camera, designed for drivers who demand outstanding video performance both day and night. It combines a 4K UHD front camera featuring an advanced 8-megapixel CMOS sensor with a Full HD 1080p rear camera equipped with a Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor for excellent image clarity.

Recording at a resolution of 3840 x 2160, the 4K Ultra High Definition front camera captures four times the detail of Full HD footage, producing over 8.3 million pixels for exceptional sharpness and detail.

The enhanced level of detail can make a significant difference when capturing important information such as licence plates, particularly at higher speeds or in challenging lighting conditions. To maximise the benefits of its 4K resolution, the DR970X-2CH PLUS II features an ultra-wide 162º front camera lens, delivering outstanding clarity and sharpness across the entire image. The system also performs exceptionality well in low-light and nighttime environments while maintaining minimal image noise.

In daylight conditions, the DR970X’s high shutter speed helps freeze fast-moving action, making it easier to capture important details clearly even in neighbouring lanes and towards the edges of the frame.

BlackVue Cloud

BlackVue Cloud is an advanced suite of connected features designed to enhance your dash camera experience, unlocking the full capabilities of your BlackVue system while keeping you remotely connected to your vehicle.

Your BlackVue dash camera can help keep watch over your vehicle sending instant push notifications to your Apple or Android device if an impact or event is detected. With Remote Live View, you can connect to your dash camera anytime, from virtually anywhere and check on you vehicle in real time.

Remotely access recorded video clips and back up important footage directly to the Cloud or your smartphone. The Real-Time Live Tracking feature also allows you to monitor vehicle activity and access location data, GPS logs and driving reports.

All that’s required is the BlackVue app and a mobile internet connection, such as the optional BlackVue CM100LTE 4G connectivity module supplied with a SMARTY SIM card.

Always-On Video Security

A BlackVue is more than a standard dash camera, it acts as a complete video surveillance system for your vehicle, continuing to monitor and protect it even when you’re away, thanks to Intelligent Parking Mode.

While parked, the system uses motion and impact sensors to detect activity and automatically record events for later playback. With BlackVue Cloud and a 4G connection, you can also receive live notifications directly to your smartphone. Built-in voltage monitoring helps protect your vehicle’s battery during extended Parking Mode operation, allowing overnight monitoring without excessive battery drain.

Intelligent Parking Mode

Dash Cameras are built to record your journeys, but Blackvue DR970X PLUS II can also continue protecting your vehicle while it is parked and unattended.

BlackVue’s Intelligent Parking Mode is ideal for drivers concerned about incidents such as hit-and-run damage, theft, or vandalism while their vehicle is left unattended.

When the ignition is turned off, the DR970X-2CH automatically switches into Parking Mode and Continues monitoring your vehicle, recording and saving detected events for later playback. When paired with the optional CM100LTE connectivity module, the system can also send instant alerts directly through the BlackVue app. Video buffering technology ensures the camera captures the moments leading up to an incident, helping provide a complete recording of events.

The DR970X-1CH also features built-in power management circuitry designed to prevent excessive battery drain during overnight operation. The camera will automatically shut down if the vehicle’s battery voltage drops below a pre-set level.

For extended recording times simply add a Power Magic Ultra B-130X or B-112.

The DR970X-2CH PLUS II offers two Parking Mode recording options: Motion & Impact Detection and Time Lapse mode.

Motion & Impact Detection mode uses the camera’s image sensor to detect movement and its built-in accelerometer (G-sensor) to identify impacts or vibrations. To help reduce unnecessary recordings, the system allows specific areas within the camera’s view to be excluded, preventing triggers caused by activity such as swaying trees or distant moving objects.

Time Lapse mode is designed to maximise recording duration while reducing storage usage by continuously recording at 1 frame per second (FPS) instead of the standard 30 FPS. Any detected events are still recorded at full resolution and 30 FPS, ensuring important incidents are captured in greater detail. With a standard 64GB microSD card, the DR970X-1CH can store more than 48 hours of Time Lapse footage at the highest extreme video quality setting.

CM100LTE with 4G Connectivity

Simply add the BlackVue CM100LTE connectivity module and a 4G data SIM card to your DR970-2CH setup to enable continuous access to BlackVue Cloud and its connected features.

With always-on connectivity, you can receive instant notifications through the BlackVue app whenever an event involving your vehicle is detected, allowing you to remotely view footage from virtually anywhere. You’ll also have access to a range of Cloud-based features, including Live View, Video Backup and Real-Time Tracking.

The CM100LTE is supplied with a SMARTY SIM card, which can be activated through the SMARTY app or website. This provides access to a 2GB monthly data allowance for £5.00 per month. Alternatively, you can use your preferred network provider, SIM card, and data plan.

Blackvue App and Viewer

The BlackVue app for iOS and Android is free to download and provides convenient control of your dash camera directly from your smartphone.

Using the app, you can access camera settings, manage recorded video files and utilise Live View to assist with the installation and positioning of your DR970X-2CH PLUS II. The app also provides access to BlackVue Cloud and its connected features, including Emergency Notifications, Remote Live View, Video Backup and Real-Time Tracking.

BlackVue Viewer for Windows and Apple Mac is available as a free download, providing an easy easy to configure camera settings and review recorded footage.

Access recordings stored on your camera’s microSD card while viewing footage alongside GPS information, including speed, date, time and map data. Video files are organised by recording type, such as Normal, Parking and Event modes, making it quick and easy to locate, review and archive important recordings.

Dual-Band Wi-Fi

The DR970X-2CH PLUS II features built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, providing quick and convenient access to recorded footage and camera settings.

Supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks, the system allows fast video downloads to iOS and Android devices through the BlackVue app. Dual-band Wi-Fi also enables Cloud-based features, including Real-Time Live View and Event Notifications, when connected via the optional CM100LTE 4G module or any compatible internet-enabled Ei-Fi network.
