Blackvue Coaxial Cable
The Blackvue Coaxial Cable is an external replacement coaxial cable, available in 1.5M, 6M, 10M and 15M lengths. It is an accessory designed to extend the rear camera connection for Blackvue DR770X and DR970 dash cameras. It is used when installing a rear camera in a vehicle that requires the cable to be routed externally or in situations where additional length is needed to reach the rear of the vehicle.
Typically, people use the Blackvue Coaxial cable like this:
Determine the Installation Requirements:
Assess your specific installation needs to determine if you require an extended rear camera cable. This could be due to the vehicle’s size, the desired location of the rear camera, or any other factors that necessitate an extended cable.
Connect the Cable:
The Blackvue coaxial cable features a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other end. Connect the male end to the existing rear camera cable that came with your Blackvue dash camera.
Extend the Cable:
Route the coaxial cable from the front of the vehicle to the desired location at the rear of the vehicle. Ensure you securely attach and protect the cable from potential damage.
Connect to the Rear Camera:
After routing the cable to the rear of the vehicle, connect the female end of the coaxial cable to the corresponding male connector of the rear camera. This ensures a secure connection.
Test the Connection:
Turn on your vehicle’s ignition and check the rear camera to ensure that it is receiving power and functioning correctly.
The designers of the coaxial cable have included a waterproof feature to shield the connection from water or moisture, which proves particularly useful when routing the cable externally.
