Over the years, we’ve undertaken a lot of bespoke van conversions. We always tailor the vehicle’s features to suit the needs of the owner – from campers to asbestos removal vans, we’ve done it all. But most recently, we’ve been working on a few animal transportation vehicles.
One such vehicle is this one for the Forest of Dean Dog Rescue charity. To complete this conversion, we ply lined this Nissan NV200 before adding Speedliner – a waterproof and hygienic spray liner coating. This makes it easy to clean the inside of the vehicle after transporting the dogs. This was very important to them as they carry a vast number of dogs who could potentially be carrying diseases.
We also installed an interior cage to house the dogs in. This enabled the driver to safely open the vehicle’s doors without the worry of dogs escaping. Then we finished off the conversion with the addition of roof bars and a flettner vent. The vent helps remove stale air from the load area.
Another animal transportation vehicle we created was this Alpaca van for Dark Sky Alpacas. For this vehicle we installed ply lining and Speedliner at the bottom of the load area which enables the floor to be easily swept out and hygienically washed.
We also installed bespoke made plywood separation gates, a ramp and a bulkhead window so the driver can check on their four legged friends.
