The True Cost of Vehicle Crime

The True Cost of Vehicle Crime

Thieves are finding it easier to break into vehicles on vans which have not been retro-fitted with high-security locking systems.

The vehicle manufactured locking systems are simply not strong enough to prevent van break-ins, as a result thousands of pounds worth valuable tools and materials are being sold onto the black market every week.

Vehicle theft in the UK cost tradespeople more than £94 million in losses last year.

Modern vehicle security are seemingly thwart by thieves using either a combination of new lock picking technology and/or bending back the doors.

Half of all vehicles stolen in the UK never end up getting reunited with their legitimate owners.

Unfortunately these figures are likely to rise due to government austerity cuts affecting police capabilities.

A report by the RAC claim that car theft in Bristol has soared by 53% in three years.
