Our engineer recently fitted Thatcham accredited Slamlocks to a fleet of Volkswagen Transporters. The locks were fitted to the rear doors, side load doors and front doors and mean the vehicle is less likely to get broken into by thieves.
How does it work?
A slamlock is a device that automatically locks the vehicle door immediately it is shut, without requiring any operation by the driver.
Electronic systems often have either global (all doors) or area (load or cab) unlocking- this leaves the unrequired doors vulnerable until the auto relock action operates. Slamlocks do not have this vulnerability and allow the driver total control.
Slamlocks integrate with the vehicle manufacturers’ locking systems providing maximum security.
Slamlocks provide a high visual deterrent, as well as a pleasing appearance.
Many Slamlocks are also designed with easy escape from locked load areas; via the manufacturers own internal exit mechanism in mind. This means the Slamlock complies with “Health & Safety at work” and “Corporate Manslaughter” legislation.
What’s the cost?
We sell a variety of Slamlocks- some Thatcham/insurance approved. Prices start from only £84 (inc VAT). Find out more.
