Punched Bulkhead

A Punched Bulkhead refers to a type of partition or divider installed in the cargo area of a van that features small perforations or holes. These holes are strategically placed in the bulkhead to allow for improved visibility from the driver’s cabin into the cargo area.

The small holes in the bulkhead provide improved visibility, allowing the driver to have a clear view of the cargo area. This is particularly beneficial for van operators who need to keep an eye on their cargo during transit for safety or monitoring purposes.

While punched bulkheads provide visibility, they still serve as a protective barrier between the driver and the cargo. They help prevent the cargo from shifting forward during sudden stops or collisions, enhancing overall safety for the driver and passengers.

Punched bulkheads can help reduce noise and vibrations from the cargo area, contributing to a quieter and more comfortable driving experience.

Similar to solid ply bulkheads, punched bulkheads assist with climate control inside the van. They help maintain consistent temperature levels in the driver’s compartment by separating it from the cargo area, which can be especially important for vans transporting temperature-sensitive goods or equipped with climate control systems.

These bulkheads still provide an added layer of security by obstructing the view into the cargo area. While they offer increased visibility from the driver’s cabin, they limit visibility from outside the vehicle, helping to deter theft and protect valuable items.
